Its GM's legacy costs that make the wages seem so far apart. The guy working at gm and toyota bring home close to the same on their paycheck each week. These are american companies that have been here 80 years.In the terms of benefits, There are 33 countries that have health care provided by the goverment including Japan. I would add that Japan funded 100% cost on the battery technology 5 years ago for the Prinis yet as a company they have a market captial in the range of 100 billion which tell you the japan treats business like war.
