Each week during the Football Season we provide Trends and Angles for some of the weekends premier match ups. Here is this weeks NFL Report:

NFL Trends and Angles for Week 3

Bengals @ Steelers

The Bengals won the last game at Heinz Field beating the Steelers 38-31 to snap a 3-game losing streak versus Pittsburgh. They are also 11-0-1 ats on the highway since 2004 and 7-0-1 ats on the road off of a straight up favorite win. The Bengals are 4-10 ats when getting 3.5 to 7 points. Pitt is 11-2 ats when favored by 3.5 to 7 points. Pitt is also 11-3-1 ats at home when facing an opponent who is on a 2+ game win streak. Pitt is 0-5 ats at home before their bye week. The last four in this series played in Pittsburgh have sailed “over” the posted total. Pitt has gone “over” the posted total in 9 straight at home during the first half of the season and in eight straight as home chalk.

Jaguars @ Colts

The Jags have won the money in eight straight games during the month of September. The Jags are 9-0-2 ats the week after scoring less than 10 points in their previous game; they are also 8-0-1 ats as a road dog the week after scoring less than 10 points. Jax is a perfect 9-0 ats in the role of underdog and 11-3 ats as a 7+ dog after playing their last game as an underdog. Indy has won 6 of their last 8 versus Jax but failed to get the money, posting a record of 2-5-1 against the number. Indy has cashed 11 of the last 13 games during the first month of the season. The Colts are 11-3 against the number after having won the money in their last two games as favorites. Indy is 15-4-1 ats when facing a team that allows less than 3.75 yards per carry on the season. The Colts are 0-10 against the number as home chalk when their opponent is on a 2+ game win streak. One final note for the Colts they are 3-16 ats as home chalk versus a division opponent with a non-division on deck.

Bears @ Vikings

Minny has won the last 4 in this series at home and they have cashed 3 of 4. The Vikings are 18-6 ats as home shorts and 22-11 ats after winning their last game by 6 or less. They are also 13-1 against the number as a home dog facing a team that averages at least 32 minutes of possession time per game. One final note for the “Boat People” they are 15-4 ats at home when the line is -3 to +3. The Bears are 7-0 against the number versus a division opponent with a non-division foe on deck. Bears are 3-11 ats on the road when playing on turf.

Panthers @ Bucs

Carolina has won straight up and ats their last 3 trips to the sunshine state to face the Bucs. The Panthers are 14-3-1 against the number on grass versus a division opponent with a non-division foe on deck. Panthers are 7-0 ats on the road when their opponent is on a 2+ game losing streak. Carolina is also 22-9 ats as road shorts and they have also gone 16-5 against the number after scoring 14 or less in two straight games. The Bucs are 15-2-1 ats after scoring less than 10 points on the road. They are also 4-13-2 against the number on grass when facing a division opponent.

Ravens @ Browns

Maybe not a premier game but Cleveland has won the last 2 in this series at home. The down side to the story is they are only 4-9 ats as home underdogs. They are also 3-13 against the number as a home dog off a s/u and ats loss facing a team off a s/u and ats win. The Browns are 3-11 ats at home before going on the road. The Ravens are 11-3-1 ats as a favorite on grass versus a division opponent before facing a non-division foe. The Ravens have fallen “under” the total in 13 of 17 on the road and 10 of the last 11 on grass. The Browns have gone “under” in 18 of their last 25 at home.

Giants @ Seahawks

The Giants are 10-0 ats when facing an undefeated team after week one of the season. NYG’s are 16-3 against the number as an underdog on turf. One final note for the G-Men they are 1-11-1 ats after their opponent played Arizona. The Hawks are 12-3 ats when their opponent averages 35 or more pass attempts per game. On the down side the Hawks are 10-25 ats as home chalk when the line is between 3.5 and 7 points, they are also 4-13 ats as a favorite coming off a home game.

Broncos @ Patriots

The Broncos are 8-0-1 ats as a dog after they allowed at least 10 points fewer than their season average. 16-4-2 ats as a road dog on grass after playing at home in their previous game. 12-3-1 ats facing an undefeated team after week one of the season, the Broncos are also 15-5-2 ats as a dog on grass after playing as chalk in their last game. One negative angle for the Broncos is when they are off a home win versus a divisional rival they are 3-10 against the number. The Pat’s have won the money in 30 of their last 43 when installed as a favorite. 11-1 ats facing a team that allows less than 10 yards per completion. 15-5-1 ats as a home favorite after winning straight up in their last game. One negative for the Pats is they are 4-15-1 ats as a favorite versus a non-division opponent before hitting the highway. The Bronco’s have fallen “under” the posted total in eight straight after a division win and the Pat’s have gone “under” in 19 of their last 30 games at home.
