Manchester United at Arsenal (2 at 6)
(7-1-2 road vs. 8-1-0 home)
This is the final match of these two EPL giants at Highbury before Arsenal moves to their new stadium next year. Last year these two teams brawled in the tunnel before and after the game! Bottomline is these two teams hate each other...period. The two guys who started the brawl are no longer with the teams (Keane for Man U and Vierra for Arsenal)
Freddie Ljungberg and Robin van Persie are out for Arsenal, though Gilberto Silva hopes to return from injury. Man U's only problems are Brown, Scoles, and Alan Smith. Ruud V Nistelrooy will be up front for Man U along with Ronaldo and one of the best (and most volatile) in Wayne Rooney. Man U, when hitting on all cylinders, can put a pasting on anyone...and I do mean anyone. The problem is their inconsistent at the worst times! They've scored 9 goals in 3 games over the holidays, and their the highest scoring team on the road in the EPL with 20 goals in 10 games. Arsenal is a quality team who've been in a funk (for them). They better worry because their best player Thierry Henry is wanted by most clubs in Europe and it would be a DISASTER to lose him with a new stadium opening in late 06.
I'm a big Wayne Rooney fan, but he scares the hell out of me because you never know when he may leap the rail and pop some old lady..lol Man U has more weapons than Arsenal, and with Freddie and Van Persie missing Arsenal's scoring options shrink. Man U has many weapons, and if you shut down Ruud there is Wayne Rooney or Ronaldo there to pounce.
Selection: Man U + 1/2 (-125)
Have a great day!
